Linear motor flying cold saw cutoff
This new technology greatly simplifies the transmission of motion. The saw is mounted directly to a linear motor and the moving carriage of and all mechanical components between the electric motor and the moving carriage of traditional transmissions are not needed anymore. The mechanical efficiency of the machine improves considerably, as related vibration and maintenance issues are reduced. The intrinsic accuracy of the linear motor boosts the ability to control the motion of the saw. The process of the flying cut has been improved in various respects: the quality of the tube end, the speed of the cut, the accuracy of the cut, and the blade life.
OTO has recognized the potential benefits of linear motors and promoted the same with original ideas.
Our design uses an AC motor or a brush less motor for the blade rotation to incorporate the ability to control the cutting speed.
A brush less motor controls the saw feed speed, which becomes another fundamental variable under control.
The blade feed motion is enhanced by the connection of the servo-motor to a high precision ball screw.
The design has always aimed at the use of high quality blades.
Long life coated blades and tipped blades for high tensile steels are now available to the tube manufacturers. With increased motion control abilities, the newest blades and technology developments are going to be applicable in the future. |
